If you’re like most people, you probably want to lose weight fast but find it difficult to stick to a diet plan for any length of time. You may have tried various diets with little success. Or, maybe you’ve lost weight only to gain it all back again (and then some) and you’re tired of the dieting merry-go-round. You’ve decided it’s time to break the cycle and lose weight for good. How? By learning from Rebel Wilson’s weight loss journey.
Rebel declared the year 2020 to be “the year of health”, and with that came the goal of losing weight. She has openly talked about her struggles with her weight and how she’s been working hard to lose weight. We all want the quick fix and to lose weight fast, but as Rebel has shown, it’s about making healthy changes and embracing the feeling of being uncomfortable, and here’s how to do it.
Embracing change
We can’t want to lose weight or become healthier if we’re not willing to change the things that made us that way in the first place. So, before you start your weight loss journey, ask yourself these questions:
– What made me gain weight in the first place?
– What are some of the unhealthy eating habits that I’ve developed over the years?
– What can I do to make my diet and lifestyle more healthy?
Once you have a good understanding of why you’re overweight and what needs to change, you’re ready to start your weight loss journey.
The biggest challenge when it comes to losing weight and improving your health is making lasting change. We love our comfort zone so change can be difficult, especially if you’re not used to it, but it’s essential if you want to see results. Rebel has embraced this challenge and has talked about how she’s been working hard to make healthy changes in her life.
The key to achieving lasting weight loss is making healthy changes that you can stick to over time. This may mean making some sacrifices, but it’s worth it in the long run.
Goals and planning
Make your health a priority by setting some specific goals and make a plan to achieve them. Once you have your goals in place, it’s time to create a plan of action. This plan should include specific steps that you will take to achieve your goals.
Creating a plan is essential if you want to lose weight and keep it off. Having a plan gives you a roadmap to follow and helps to hold you accountable.
So your goal is to lose weight? How are you going to achieve that and is weight loss enough of a goal? Think about all the areas in your life that would benefit from better health and mobility and what improvements would come your way. This will help you stay on track when the going gets tough, as it inevitably will at times.
Using a food journal is a great way to get started on your journey to better health. Record everything you eat for a week and take a look at where you can make changes. Are you eating too much processed food? Are you getting enough protein, healthy fats, and non-starchy vegetables? Making small changes in your diet can have a big impact on your overall health.
If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to goal setting, try using the SMART acronym: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. So your goal might be to lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks by eating only whole foods, grocery shopping and planning meals in advance.
Nutrient-dense whole foods
Rebel has talked about how she’s been eating nutrient-dense whole foods as part of her weight loss journey. This is a great way to lose weight and keep it off, as well as improve your overall health. Avoid processed foods and eat plenty of good healthy fats, lean protein, non-starchy carbohydrates. You need to find a diet plan that you can stick to, so find one that fits your lifestyle and preferences. Rebel Wilson did a lot of research before she chose her weight loss plan, and you should do the same. There’s no “one size fits all” solution when it comes to weight loss.
During an interview, Rebel said before she changed her diet she was eating about 3,000 calories most days and because they were normally carbs, she would still be hungry. She said she was eating a ton of sugar and had a very sweet tooth.
According to her, it’s all about being nutrient-dense. In the same interview, she said “I’ve just been eating nutrient-dense whole foods instead of processed ones.”
It’s important to ignore fad diets or quick fixes; instead, focus on eating nutrient-dense whole foods that will help you lose weight naturally. Pills, shakes, and magic potions simply do not work and there are no shortcuts.
Movement is greater than exercise
EXERCISE IS NOT THE FLIP SIDE OF THE SEDENTARY COIN – MOVEMENT IS. WHILE THE DIFFERENCE MAY SEEM LIKE AN ARGUMENT IN SEMANTICS, THESE TWO HABITS ARE QUITE DIFFERENT” (BOWMAN, 2016, P. 176)
While movement is an important part of any health journey you can still lose weight without ever stepping foot in the gym. Movement is a critical lifestyle factor and there are many elements of movement that can be an enjoyable part of life. In fact, Rebel Wilson has said that she prioritizes movement over exercise.
What does this mean? Simply put, it means getting up and moving throughout the day, have a big stretch, take a walk, go for a bike ride, take the stairs instead of the elevator, dance around your house, walk to the store, doing some lunges during commercials, follow a yoga session on YouTube, etc. These are all great ways to move your body and get in some movement. And, if you do enjoy going to the gym or participating in other forms of movement, that’s great too! Just make sure you’re moving throughout the day as well.
Movement should be fun, so find something that you enjoy doing so you’ll be more likely to stick with it.
Embrace feeling uncomfortable
Making change can be tough, and it’s often uncomfortable. Rebel Wilson has said that she’s embraced feeling uncomfortable as part of her weight loss journey. This is a key part of making change and achieving your goals. So, if you find yourself feeling uncomfortable, know that it’s normal and you can do hard things.
When you’re feeling uncomfortable, take a deep breath and remind yourself why you’re doing this. Remember your goals and what you want to achieve. And then, get back to it! The more you practice embracing the feeling of discomfort, the easier it will become.
Like Rebel we have to embrace feeling uncomfortable. This is something we can all agree with – change is hard and it’s often uncomfortable. But if we want to achieve our goals, we have to be willing to face the challenges head-on. As Rebel Wilson has shown, it’s possible to lose weight and get healthy by working hard and embracing the uncomfortable feeling of change. So don’t give up – keep pushing forward and you’ll achieve your goals in no time!
Mindset and positivity
Have faith in yourself and don’t forget to be kind to yourself – everyone makes mistakes and slips up sometimes. Just get back on track and keep moving forward.
Rebel recommends looking in the mirror and accepting yourself for who you are. She says that we should work hard and believe in ourselves.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rebel said “I’ve tried every diet possible – you know, I’ve done Atkins, I’ve done Paleo, I’ve done veganism, I’ve done everything .” According to her it’s about mindset. “It’s not about the diet, it’s about the mindset,” she says. “It’s about working hard and being positive.” And that is something we can all learn from Rebel Wilson. She has shown that it’s possible to lose weight and be healthy by working hard and staying positive, even when things get tough. So don’t give up – keep going and you’ll achieve your goals.
Finally, Rebel has talked about how she’s had to work hard and believe in herself in order to lose weight. This is something that we can all relate to.
Have realistic expectations
Finally, you need to be patient and stay focused. Losing weight is hard work, but it’s worth it in the end. Rebel Wilson is a great example of that. She’s lost a lot of weight, but she’s also healthy and happy. So don’t give up – keep going and you’ll lose weight too!
Anyone who has ever lost weight will tell you that regardless of what diet protocol you’re following, it’s hard work and you must be willing to make sacrifices.
Regardless of what diet protocol you’re following, it’s hard work. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, Rebel Wilson is proof that you can lose weight and achieve your goals.
So, what can you learn from Rebel Wilson’s weight loss journey? First of all, it’s important to have realistic expectations. You’re not going to lose weight overnight, and it’s going to take a lot of hard work.
While some people may be tempted to try to lose weight in the same way as Rebel, it’s important to remember that her journey is not easy. She has embraced the hard work and discomfort that comes with making change.
But don’t worry – there is hope, there are plenty of people out there who have successfully lost weight and kept it off.
Secondly, focus on eating nutrient-dense whole foods instead of processed ones. This will help you lose weight naturally and healthily.
Finally, remember that there is no quick fix when it comes to losing weight. It’s going to take hard work, dedication, and time. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, Rebel Wilson is proof that you can achieve your goals. So don’t give up – start your journey.
