Getting Better Sleep: Eight Sleep Pod

,

Adults need an average of 7-9 hours. That’s 30-40%% of your entire life doing one activity! When I realized that, I decided that I should invest in improving my sleep rather than wasting it all on clothes, shoes, and stupid stuff. That my money would be better spend on health and well being and I am glad I did.

Prior to purchasing an Eight Sleep Pod, I had a friend who had the Eight Sleep Pod 3 Cover. She told me how big of a difference it made in her and her husband’s life which encouraged me to look into it. It is an intelligent cover (basically like a fitted sheet) that adapts to the user’s sleep, by cooling and heating both sides to improve sleep. Each side is independent which makes it perfect for couples, especially if one likes to sleeps cold and the other sleeps hot. While sleeping, it adapts to your sleep based on your sleep stage, heart rate, and more factors. It also has an app, which allows you to change the temperature which starts takes effect pretty immediately. While in bed, you can also change the temperature with a tap on the side of the bed.

Review: we love it and recommend it to all of our friends. We have owned ours for 1+ years now and we can tell the difference in our health.

My Favorite Features:

  • Travel setting in app – when I set that I am traveling, it prompts me if my partner is traveling with me. If he is not, then it gives him the entire bed so both sides are to his settings. If he’s traveling with me, it turns off the automation until our return date.
  • Alarm clock built in the cover – it is a vibration and thermal alarm that will start heating up the bed prior to your alarm time so that it bring you out of sleep more naturally instead of a blaring alarm that jolts you awake
  • Daily sleep report – I get a report every day with how much sleep I got (by sleep stage) which I find interesting

First Time: When we first got the sleep pod, we set it too low. We thought we liked to sleep cold during the summer so we set it at -4 out of -10 and we froze. We were so cold and sleep was terrible! Lesson learned so we started small at -1 and adjusted from there.
